Course Description:

Wages, employment, and education are key aspects for the well being of most individuals in an economy and labor market policy is an important part of economic policy. This course provides an overview on the economic analysis of labor markets. The main parts of the course are theories of labor supply, labor demand, investment in human capital, compensating differentials, unemployment, and issues in immigration economics. The course will be both theoretical and empirical.

The exercise sessions involve discussing current research papers, working with labor-market related microdata in three PC-pool sessions, and conducting an in-class experiment.
